St. Francis convent, Njalookara is a branch house of the Congregation of Franciscan Handmaids of the Good shepherd. It was blessed by Bp. Sebastian Adayantharath on 25th August 2007. In the beginning, it was a boarding school for girls which was shifted from Parur. As an external sign of their love and commitment to the Lord in vowed life the sisters are serving in variety of ministries such as: -catechism, family unit meetings, Mathruvedi and other social and pious organizations in the parish for the welfare of the children, youth and elders. Sisters are rendering their services in Nursing Care, teaching, Medical Services like Pharmacist, Lab Technician etc. Recently Sisters are engaged in the Administration of a De-addiction centre for women under the Diocese of Ernakulam-Angamaly.
