On 3rd May 2004, St. Nicholas convent was established in the Diocese of Kannur, in the parish of St. Nicholas Church, Mattool. In order to meet the felt need of the people living in that remote area the Vicar of the parish, Rev. Fr.  Jose Pulinthanam.S.J, and Rev. Fr  Francis Kaviyil OFM.Cap invited us to start a  community there. In the beginning, the community lived in a rented house and participated actively in all the activities of the parish and began to teach in the English Medium School run by the parish.  In 2008 a new convent was constructed and at present sisters are rendering their service in parish activities, home visit, family meetings etc and engaged in giving moral education to people in coastal areas.
